two 10" type-r's or one 10" RE HC?

i have two 10inch type-r's with a jbl 600.1 mono amp and found this deal on ebay for a 10in RE HC sub used....

i dont want to invest a lot more into another amp or even just completely new one so i'm wondering if i should go ahead and sell the two type-r's and buy this thing cause i've heard so much about them?....will it be louder than the two type-r's? and will i be able to run it off a 600.1 amp?

it's up to you... personally I would stick with the two that you have. but that's just me

If you want them louder build a good ported box if their not already in one

about the ported box, i was looking into it and a local shop charges 210 for any ported/tuned box but i dont want to spend that much money and i cant build one myself cause i'd rather have someone do it that knows what their doing.....how much do you think that gnomeaudio.com would charge for a ported box? what are my opitions if i want one for under 200?

yea he could build u one, not sure of the price. i would go with the 2 type R's cuz 600 wattts wouldnt really be ideal power for the HC.

Sealed Type R's are decent...

I think type-r's do fine ported. And I'm pretty sure you can get a box from gnome for cheaper than $210 that will probably be better quality. . . or just do some research and build your own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the rs better do well ported, alpine sells a loaded ported box with the r in it.

I would get it tuned to like 30hz. should, not positve, be able to get one built for under $200.

realy not that hard to build one, my and my dad built my 1st box in like 2 3 hour days. turned out very good too. it looks beat up now but time well do that to a uncarpeted box. won't do the paint job again.

Use WinISD Pro form http://www.linearteam.dk/ to figure out the optimal internal volume/port dimensions for your box. Building one isn't hard at all.
