I'm about to buy a Premier TS-W2000SPL subwoofer, and I'm not sure how to build the box. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com recommends 1.5 cu ft, but is that before or after displacement? It has two voice coils... do I need two terminal cups? How would changing the box size affect the sound? Should I use polyfill? I need to caulk the inside, right? How should the sides overlap? Blah blah blah? Blah, blah blah?

1.5 cu ft. should be the volume after displacement. You can use polyfil to make the box appear bigger to the subwoofer. You do not need two terminal cups but you can go that route if you wish. The bigger you make the box the muddier the bass will get. These subwoofers do not benefit a great deal from an increase in box size. Use Liquid Nails on all the seams and you can do the sides however you like, some people like to overlap a little since it makes carpeting a bit easier to hide staples etc.

I'm probably going to build two boxes, but I'm making the sealed first since it'll be easier.

Being new to this site, you should take the advice that we are trying to give you. That woofer does not belong in a sealed enclosure, and you are wasting your time and money building one. Everthing that Jmac said is true, you should take note. Also, 1.5 cubes is quite small. If you have a lot of space I would recommend a 3-4 cube ported cabinet tuned around 45 hz.

Holy s**t that's awesome! I guess I'll do that if I have the space. Will a 6x8 ft. sheet of MDF be enough? (too lazy to do the calculations right now...) Where do I get the ports?

im pretty sure http://www.crutchfield.com has ports...

on the enclosure- q logic makes a 1.75 cubic foot ported box, dunno if ur interested just throwing it out there
