i agree w/ iasca pro that in the real world the test would be fairly easy to pass comparing say a jl to a boss esp when the boss has a jensen on the input side and the jl a eclipse hu. however, IMO, his test ( and he states as well) WOULD work in the real world if u compare "apples to apples not oranges to frogs". that meaning a jl amp against a rf amp w/ equal quality hu's up front. i think that is what he is getting at.

in the end, however, is that noone has yet to collect, if i'm correct. until that day??????????

Kind of a confusing test if you will,

Basically what RC is saying is that Power is Power, and a watt is still inaudible, so basing your decisions of amplifier choice on SQ is a moot point.

IASCA Pro- what you said is basically what I concluded after reading this article a few times. There is really no way this contest can be won due to the restraints of the test- however with the restraints removed and real world variables taken into consideration- the contest could be won. Under the guidlines of the test- RC has done a excellent job of proving his theory and brought into light a good discussion point and observation of the amplifier manufacturers un-standardized power ratings and boasts claiming better SQ.

Fact is Fact- speakers and crossovers determine SQ. Power provides the reaction within these components to produce sound, however power without these is inaudible.

Take it easy,
