Troy.....What happened?

Was it just me or did any1 else think troy was just ...... done WRONG!!

It had a sort of 1980's old jesus movie feel to it. All the fight seens were choppy and all over the place. The scene i enjoyed the most was the fight scene between Acheleisis (however u spell it) and hector, although it could have been better.

Can't believe this is the same guy that did Lord of the rings, can't be!!

You think i would appreciate it since i got in free, but i couldn't. If it had more of a The Passion feel, which i think they were trying to go for , (The lady singing horribly in the background, like that) it would have been better.

He must have not had the budget because i was REALLY dissappointed!

I'm going to bet that you are the only person that is going to feel this way. Go home and pick up a history book and you will see how accurate this movie is. There is more to this action movie than just one major fight scene (the one vs. Hector you mentioned), it was the rise of the Greeks and the fall of Troy, so don't look for any Matrix style fights here. War is not pretty, i think the movie portrayed that well.

Also, try to give some reasons on how to fix it (the lady singing wasn't a good reason since 1. it was in tune, so i dont know what you heard; and 2. Lord of the Rings was the same way with the lady singing which you said you liked and came out before Passion). Granted some things were elaborated for hollywood, but really, is there any way you could make it more accurate?

I felt unjustified when Achilles was killed by an arrow by a pu$$y ass prince who challenged someone else to a fight-to-the-death then wusses out.
I was rather upset.
Take it up with the people that made history... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I understand what you mean by that, maybe I just got too caught up in it.

But doesn't it seem unjustified that one of the greatest warriors ever died like he did? Just my opinion. He should have called out the prince.

Uh, no spoilers please. Not all of us have seen it yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

*SPOILERS*

I totally agree with the original poster. This movie just had too much of a Hollywood feel to make it the movie it could have been. I didn't think it was terrible but it definitely could have been better.

I think the movie missed a lot by not having the Gods in it. I also think they played too heavily on the Greeks being evil and the Trojans being victimized. And while petty, the accents just seemed odd and misplaced.

In the Illiad it was Apollo that guided Paris' arrow into Achilles' heel.

They spent nearly 200 million on this movie, that's two thirds of the LoTR budget and the LoTR was spread out over 9 hours, not just three. I don't think budget was the problem.

Not to start flaming, but have you picked up a history book lately? Even if you have...go pick up the epic poem, The Iliad, and read it...this film was not accurate at all. The war, won in two weeks in the movie, took ten years and well...agamemnon never was supposed to die, the god were the ones really fighting the war...none of this was portrayed. Worst interpretation of a book I've ever seen.

The movie looks like it stars a bunch of pretty boys in dresses..
so does that make you want to see it or something? i guess from the angle you're at you'd notice that, not the fact that its a wonderful movie or a good story.. NOPE, not you.. that part went over your head!

the guys don't wear dresses the whole movie fewl!
