tracking a package

I received a tracking number from a guy that I bought from. he mailed this morning and the number doesnt work yet. 10:30 pm. Scam not scam dont know yet but would it not register yet? Also, usps, is the number both numbers and letters or just numbers in the tracking number? thanks

i don't usually expect them to work for a day, its takes a while for them to get in the system i guess.

usps takes atleast a day for it to come up in the system. and they have letters and numbers in the tracking number.
