Tools for doing car audio installs

Anybody have a web site or know of a store ( one that is all over the country ) that I could find tools for doing car audio work ? Right now I am looking for some wire strippers that go up to 4 ga. wire . I tried crutchfield,sound domain,and parts express, but no one has one . Any help would be appreciated

i doubt you're going to be able to find wire strippers that work on that gauge of wire. i use a fresh razorblade carefully on anything over ten guage. radioshack tends to be a good spot to find automatic wire strippers and other tools...

This may sound a little odd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but when I strip large gauge wire. I use a cheap dime store cigar cutter. Open it up slide the wire in Squeeze a little bit and twist. Presto the sheathing comes right off.

I think they even have a Cigar Cutter/Butate lighter so you can strip and heat shrink your 4 guage connection!

You might even try some parott nose cutters. The work similar to regular crimpers when stripping, but with a bit better leverage than the cigar cutter. Same Technique as the cigar cutter. Just a suggestion.

The cigar cutter idea works pretty good, when I taking CISCO classes, we used what was basically a cigar cutter to strip wire, insulation off of Cat5e, it works pretty dang slick.

I use coaxial cable crimpers (cable tv wire) myself, they cut and strip through 4ga like nothing. cant crimp ga cables with em though, still us a hammer for that cause crimpers for them are still too **** expensive.

I know what your talking about the pladium cable cutter, not really tyhe same thing. I used it when I was doing cisco ntworking academy too.
