Well, I finally decided to get serious and get a new box ready for a comp some time this summer. I think im going to need someone with a little more experience in box bulding and to give me some pointers before going into battle this summer.
First of all, the basics:
My car. It's a 1994 lincoln continental, pics will be posted in the gallery sometime tomorrow or this weekend included the seat folded down and interior pics for more ideas.
Box:
The new box im going to build will be about 8.7^3 before displacement. I'd like to use this for a daily driver so im thinking baybe like 38-42 hz? Box will be 3/4 MDF ( i have a ton sitting around) What I really need is some tricks of the pros on the box. It will most likely be divided up into 2 seperate chambers with bracing in the middle etc. Can anyone give me some pointers about bracing, deflecting with right angles or anything else ?
Woofige/ electrical:
I'll be running my 2 12" SEXXX's off my JBL 1200.1 @ 2 ohm. HU is my old ass pioneer deh(?)-1400. Cant afford a new alt right now (its about 270 for a 200A one) but my stock is 135A. I have one batt, a good die hard one with 1000A, can possibly wire another one(again, have an extra in my garage thats been conditioned on a charger). I'll probably get the big 3 done sometime in the next few weeks. Most likely I'll be getting some eDead V3.0 this summer, I'm thinking about 2 gallons worth. A gallon for the trunk, and a gallon for the door pannels?
Mic time is hard to come by around here so the comp will probably be my first go around.
Anything else I'm neglecting? Ideas?
Thanks
Tim
