Thoughts on tsunami DB1100 amp?

I have been looking for an amp for my RE SE 12" sub. How is the DB1100 tsunami amp? Is it reliable and does it put out its rated power? Im looking to run it at 2 om for 650wrms for the SE. I also like that it can run at 1 ohm so i could use it with another sub later, which I probably will. What are your thoughts on it? Im also thinkng about the Hifonics BX1000D. Im open to others as well, but i dont wanna spend more than $250 shipped.

WarDrumz Avionixx told you wrong I have the manual for my dB4440 which is also the same manual as the dB1100 all the amps are rated at 13.6v not 14.4v.

Also I don't care about what voltage whether its 12v-14.4v (anything rated over 14.4 falls into the following category) they use to rate it as long as they tell you what it is because you can still make an informed decision. The people I don't respect are the manufacturers who rate all their amps according to MAX power and don't mention anywhere what the true RMS is... that is lame.

Hmmmmm.....

I feel you on the 'max watts' thing.

But I initially was talking about respect refering to the amp itself, not the manufacturer. Although that sounds weird, lol.

14.4v is a pain in the crack to keep constant.

Hey!...but what REALLY trips me out, is when the amp is rated @14.4v AND max watts. That's horrible

Yes, I think Avionixx only has a few 4440 left and that is that for the tsunami line... **** shame, the DB1800s would have been nice to have.

It's true they don't make Tsunami anymore BUT Avionixx was the last people Tsunami had build these amps, so they have the last remaining stock. Avionnixx build quality is great and Avionixx offers a 1 year warranty through them on all their Tsunami amps. If you can get ahold of a dB1100 then do so. You can't beat the price for performance, I wish I had known about it before I got my JBL 1200.1. The JBL costs more but lacks nice features like an SSF. So for $220 thats one hell of a deal on a good amp. My JBL cost me about $250-70 and isn't really worth it since I can only use it in sealed enclosures without the addition of an SSF.

WarDrumz, the thing I hate the most is that they don't even bother to tell you that max watts are 14.4v @ 10% THD, that is the part that really blows about MAX ratings. I also like the flea market people who rate their amps based on 15v+, I certainly love my car audio setup to do that constant but it sure isn't going to happen anytime soon. I'd also love to know what crack pipe these people hit before they decided to come up with those ratings. It reminds me of the PMPO ratings used by cheap PC speaker makers so they can claim 600w from a 20w RMS set of speakers.
