This scamming shit has to end.

I'll have to admit of not buying things on here due to being unsure. I've passed by what could've been great deals-- or great ways to scam me. I mean, I'm a High School student, so even $10 dollars can be a lot for me.

And while the Ref #'s might be good... I would never scam someone. Or anything of the sort. Just because I know how ishy it is to get scammed.

But, as you can see, I have no refs.

Doesn't make me a bad person, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I also tend to stay away from "fire sales" where the seller seems to be in a financial bind. Sure, that's often where the bargains are, but it's also a signal that a person may "turn bad" when they have been decent before. Also, if something goes wrong, they don't have the resources to make it right.
Yup, when your doin risk analysis of a potential buy, a seller in hard times definately adds more risk. People in dire need may sometimes do things others might not so they can stay afloat.

Yep, think Mike Dressure. He was a decent trader and then he started having marital / job and injury problems.

I go to LS1tech.com a ***** am/camaro/ gto/ corvette forum. They got a rule as were you have to be there at least 6 months or have 50+ posts in a period of more than 2 days or w/e. Or you can't even post in there classifieds. I think that'd be a good idea.

Didn't read but the first couple of posts. my bad if already brought up

WTF? If you whore for 48 hours you are deemed worthy to sell?

Yeah but the whole idea in this entire thread other than *****ing and arguing is:

We ALL need to do small things about reducing the risk of being scammed. I mean lets face it...If everyone just keeps saying "Its not my problem, Im not the one getting scammed", thats not helping the entire community.

Im trying to be as realistic as I can...

Things I think will decrease the # of scammers:

1. I seriously think you should not be able to sell ANYTHING unless you have at least 1k posts(this HELPS eliminate people coming on here and posting JL AUDIO 1000/1 AMPS FOR $300!!! with like 48 posts) I believe there would be less people likely to stick around and post 1,000 posts, to try and scam people.

2.I think you should be a forum member for at least 3-6 months, Again this eliminates the people just trying to get a quick scam on this site. It is a fuvking privilege to be able to be a member of this community. Shouldnt be able to start selling with 1 post! wtf is that. Waste of time.

I think these 2 things if they were put into action, I believe it would improve this forum overall, but ONLY IF PEOPLE ACTUALLY TAKE IT SERIOUS.

I am no more than a bug on this forum. I do not have the status of a mod, nor am I of any importance whatsoever. I am just merely stating that this shit needs to improve.

Agreed Kris, but I don't think we need a governing body to enforce those rukes...it is each member's personal responsibiltiy to create a set of rules for themself and then be disciplined enough not to jump on a "good" deal.

I understand that, which is definately a good point. However this is for the common good. I dont think having at least 1k posts, and being a forum member for at least 3 months is going to hurt this forum in any way possible. It can only be good.

Its like if you see somebody about to step in a puddle of water, do you warn them? Or do you let them step in the water and ruin their new shoes? It can definately go both ways. A. you can warn them and they are "less likely" to step in that puddle of water again, or B you can let them step in it and then they are WAY more likely not to step in that puddle again because they have first hand experienced how it feels and it sucks.

1,000 posts? Are you serious? What about the people out there that don't have a whole lot of time to get on the boards due to work/school/wife/etc? I highly doubt I will have 1,000 posts by December..

Biggest thing I think, was stated before, people are to trust worthy. I don't trust many people that I've met / know in person, let alone someone I'll never meet over the net.

You do make a valid point. But their are other ways to sell your audio VS the forums. Plus its going to be much harder for you to tell on here with a lower post count, and lower refs? Would be much easier for you to tell on ebay/amazon.

I do agree with that, but it nice seeing stuff be sold on a forum. Even on eBay, people get scammed, hell even in person people still managed to get scammed.

I do understand where you are coming from, but no matter what is done, someone will always end up getting the shitty end of the stick.

Way I see it, if you're skeptical about someone selling something, don't buy it, or do a local pick up, or even C.O.D. .

and that is why people get scammed...cause you can come on here with 1 post and sell something...yea your stupid if you buy from that person, but it shouldn't even be a possibility

I agree with both those rules he suggested, I know you think it should be our responsibility, but enforcing these rules can only help... A LOT IMO
