This scamming shit has to end.

It just needs to be more regulated. How about making threads of excellent transactions. Like 10% of people acctually make threads and get into detail about their experience.

I just believe their are alot of little things we all can do better as a forum community to minimize the scammer count. Its never going to be perfect, we dont live in a perfect world, however shit needs to get better.

Your right that was kind of ignorant of me. Sorry
I acctually read your entire thread before and it sucks you got scammed, but he did only have 3 refs....thats not alot of refs man.
I will agree with that, but my nature is that I am a very trusting person, which has and will screw me over from time to time.

I figured that all the other stuff he was selling at the time, that this was legit. However, I was wrong, and it has made me to be more aware of who I deal with.

imo, you can blame the president/economy. Lack of money make people go bug eye...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
If a Dem Prez takes office expect more scams....just sayin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Do you have any count or % of scams per successful sale here? Maybe the risk isn't that bad, and if homework is done maybe its even better.

Everyone learns a lesson from time to time in their lives, Its a good thing you werent scammed for 2 grand...now your more aware of shit around here.

I have never been scammed online before, but I have done my fair share of dumbshit in life.

This crap is nuts, I was looking to buy some subs used, but after getting on here for the past week and daily seeing a new "I got scammed" thread, I've decided to just get them from a local shop.

I find it extremely weak when someone has to "steal" "rob" "scam" or any other things such as that. Myself, personally, there is nothing I hate more than a liar & a thief.

I do agree with some of the people that have said check their ref's, but still, people need to grow up and follow through.

I guess there will always be the bunch of people like that though.. Such a waste of space..

we can not stop stupid people.

even if we make a limit on selling and postcount, and add the ebay reference type patch to the vbulliten forum code.

it does not stop people from drooling over some crazy equipment for $100 off the ebay price and getting scammed because the guy bought a pair of coaxials for $30 off somone else and has one good feedback and 34 posts.

if you are going to buy something from somone and you have good references, then ask for them to ship first, or COD, or pay with paypal credit card - so you have something to fall back on.

people are just too trustworthy, and they will get burned for being greedy and not spending the extra $100 on something brand new.

x2

That is true, I dont know how this entire site operates so... yeah.
But we really need regulations on selling/trading. Like your not allowed to sell until you have reached a certain # of posts, or have had a certain # of refs.
not gonna happen.

krisfnbz, are you just now seeing the trend towards dishonesty?
God gave Man free will.

Free will bred dishonesty.

Ish happens.

Rather than complaining about it try doing something proactive.

(Yanno ~ something PROactive rather than REactive)

I offered tips and tricks to prevent getting scammed. Preston was of great help in that thread.

You're whining about it.

DO something, demmit! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hitbybrick.gif.68a672fae224041f00769a97c2c1bf2d.gif
i havent seen you post in a while, and this is where you choose to post? Unless I just havent noticed you posting.

Nothing I can do about it, You can post sticky's all day long and that doesnt solve the problem.
I know people will get scammed from time to time. but this is happening way too much.

Im just a forum member.... you tell me what I can do and ill help the cause.
theres really nothing you can do, people on this forum are ****ing retarded sometimes. I say this everytime this comes up, there were scammer call out threads, and in those threads people were still tryin to buy from the scammer. With idiots like that around, what can you really do?

Their will always be scammers, but if its regulated better the % will be MUCH lower...and it will make CA.COM even better, because then people would sell/buy with more confidence.
Just dont buy from here, go to ebay online stores. Is it really worth the $40 discount you get?

Why do you feel the need to address this? Do you think this thread wills top all people from being scammed? Open your eyes. Who cares if people are dumbasses and deal with an obvious scammer? They should grow a ****ing brain. It does **** for the people who get ripped off by "legitimate" sellers, but there's nothing you can do about that either. Some people are just ****ing scum and they build their rep with the intentions on scamming. If you're so worried about it stop buying, selling, and trading, but your thread isn't going to change shit, as much as we all wish it would.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gif I would never buy from anyone on here ever again. Maybe local pick up and a certain few members, but thats it.

This has been talked about repeatedly. Do your homework before you make a purchase, get info, get a number and call the seller, don't let them call you. Pay with a CC so you can charge back if need be.
Its not the sites responsibility to make sure you make a smart educated purchase.

oh is this teh part where everyone forgets to check the thread and see the issue was resolved? funny how that works:) eugenics is my buddy, though:) hes just a bit upset im better than him in every way possible:)
it shouldnt have happened in the first place bitch.

resolved? Long after the issue was presented. This was the second time within a reasonably short time line this had happened too. Pathetic for anyone, especially someone with an ego like yours. You are a piece of shit who is incapable of seeing through simple transactions with any competence. You simply lock the unsuspecting buyer into a transaction and then take your sweet *** time once you've got the money.
http://caraudio.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3752291&postcount=161

lets not forget the classic where you tell the buyer simply asking for rectification to go fuck himself.

I agree. There are a lot of decent people to trade with, but it's not really newsworthy when people do no more than they agreed to do.

The fact is that it's not failproof, but I don't think I have ever had one transaction on here that I did not have absolute confidence in the other party. You really can get a good idea of what type of person you are dealing with if you do your research.

I also tend to stay away from "fire sales" where the seller seems to be in a financial bind. Sure, that's often where the bargains are, but it's also a signal that a person may "turn bad" when they have been decent before. Also, if something goes wrong, they don't have the resources to make it right.
