"Iraq is a nation that :
1. Has a demonstrated history of violence against neighboring countries.
America invading them is no different? We have bombed around 100 other countries since WW2. If we are saying Iraq is bad for violence against a few countries, what do you say to the US bombing 100's of others?
2. Has demonstrated deployment of WMD (chemical weapons). The best intelligence indicates that WMD's are still present.
The intelligence said that there were no WMD's. THEY SAID INTELLIGENCE WAS WRONG. Where are these WMD's huh? Weve been in Iraq for how long? and we still have yet to find them. You say the best intelligence? They said that their intelligence failed. Your very argument was disproved by the very people that claimed there was WMDs...you may want to re-look at your sources...
3. Has collaborated with and aided Al-Queda, the very terrorist organization that invaded your country, mercilessly slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians.
The CIA trained Al-Queda, shut up. You know absolutely nothing of how Al-Queda came to be, or how they got their training or weapons....the US FUNDED THEM.
4. Has demonstrated complete defiance against the UN. At least a dozen Security Council Resolutions have been passed since the first Gulf War, condemning the regime.
Bush invading Iraq wasn't direct defiance against the UN? Howso?
5. Has barbarically ***** and tortured it's own citizens."
The "citizens" you speak of are people Sadam hated. They werent even Iraqis, but Serbs staying in Iraq. Think of it like Hitler and the jews...yeah the jews lived in Germany, and were "citizens", but hitler killed them...same with Sadam and the serbs. If you did your reasearch you would know this.
what do you all think of this?
I think you need to research things before you quote people.
I quoted someone from another site......those are his reasons for going into war.
Did you even watch the video, or are you making ignorant comments about something you know nothing of?
Quote from your site of "officials"
"FACT: On 9/11 there were only 14 fighter jets on alert in the contiguous 48 states. No computer network or alarm automatically alerted the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) of missing planes. "They [civilian Air Traffic Control, or ATC] had to pick up the phone and literally dial us," says Maj. Douglas Martin, public affairs officer for NORAD. Boston Center, one of 22 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regional ATC facilities, called NORAD's Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS) three times: at 8:37 am EST to inform NEADS that Flight 11 was hijacked; at 9:21 am to inform the agency, mistakenly, that Flight 11 was headed for Washington (the plane had hit the North Tower 35 minutes earlier); and at 9:41 am to (erroneously) identify Delta Air Lines Flight 1989 from Boston as a possible hijacking. The New York ATC called NEADS at 9:03 am to report that United Flight 175 had been hijacked--the same time the plane slammed into the South Tower. Within minutes of that first call from Boston Center, NEADS scrambled two F-15s from Otis Air Force Base in Falmouth, Mass., and three F-16s from Langley Air National Guard Base in Hampton, Va. None of the fighters got anywhere near the pirated planes.
Why couldn't ATC find the hijacked flights? When the hijackers turned off the planes' transponders, which broadcast identifying signals, ATC had to search 4500 identical radar blips crisscrossing some of the country's busiest air corridors. And NORAD's sophisticated radar? It ringed the continent, looking outward for threats, not inward. "It was like a doughnut," Martin says. "There was no coverage in the middle." Pre-9/11, flights originating in the States were not seen as threats and NORAD wasn't prepared to track them."
You know where the 14 planes were? Miles away from the PENTAGON. EVEN IF THERE WAS ONLY 14 PLANES TO PROTECT AMERICA, THEY WERE MILES AWAY FROM THE ATTACKS. There is no excuse as to why they didnt intercept them.
If you say the ATC couldn't find them because it was doing coverage in a "donut" style sweep, then they should have theoretically, picked up the planes, afterall, they were on the outer regions of the US, and would thus be where the outer "donut" would pickup..there were no planes in the middle of the US, so why would they be looking there? The ATC knew where the planes had been hijacked, there is plenty of evidence to support that the planes were known to be missing far in advance to attacking the WTC, so why didnt the ATC look where the planes disappeard from?
If something disappears, you look where it disappeared from, does anyone not understand this concept? Planes are hijacked, and we have the best air defense system in the world, and we know where they were hijacked, but we still cant find them?
