THE Thread

Okay ~ Here is my candidate for "Ig-nant Muh Fugga" Of The Day.

Within an auction listing for a minitruck I found a paragraph containing a completely moronic statement:

Update: Many changes have been made since this list was printed (amps now all mounted on deck of bed, subs in standard boxes behind seats, kicker subs included, but need resealing foam, and not installed, new power accoustic fubr10 2 ohm x 2 ohm sub and mTx sub installed. best buy couldnt even display this sub as they didnt have any amp in stock that would push a 2 ohm X 2 ohm sub!!! currently the orion is seeing 5 10" subs bridged parallel!!! hits very hard!!! i can show pictures of old setup and new. needs some cosmetic changes and touches as its still very much 90s look. the main thing i like is this truck is not the same as every other lowrider around. so many people these days install airbags, a custom grill, paint, wheels and think they have the best truck on the planet. this one is really different.
Now I do not venture in the car audio section of my local Best Buy often and on those rare occasions that I do wander in that direction I do not particularly pay attention to the specific models of various products that they offer but is it this fella's contention that Best Buy doesn't sell a single amplifier capable of running safely when presented a 4 Ohm load??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm finding that a bit difficult to believe, personally. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Here's the actual listing if you care to read through this guy's rather long item description to find out what a tool he really must be.

The "Ask Seller A Question" question I just sent him:

Within your item description in the paragraph prefaced by "Update:" there is a mention of a Power Acoustic FUBR 10" DVC 2 Ohm sub. You further describe Best Buy's inability to display that particular sub due to not having an, and I quote, "amp in stock that would push a 2 ohm X 2 ohm sub!!!"

Is it your contention, sir, that Best Buy doesn't sell a single amplifier that can operate safely when presented with a 4 Ohm load? (which is what can be achieved by wiring two 2 Ohm voice coils in a series configuration)

Having a look at both Best Buy's general website and the specific stock in my local Best Buy store via that website would plainly contradict that statement as false seeing as there are multiple amplifiers sold by Best Buy that could easily create enough wattage to sufficiently drive a 10" FUBR.

Any help and/or information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
