What brand is it? My HP has a "palm guard" setting for the pad.....you set it's sensitivity so that you don't have that problem that you're having.

It a Compaq Presario R3000.. There is a setting to turn off the 'tap' feature while you type which I just discovered today.. I'll give it a try I suppose, but if that doesn't work, ima sell it and get something else.. It's very annoying.. You shoulda sold the deck for about $50 more and we woulda had a deal.. Why so cheap??

I don't know that he ever sold it, actually.

He was asking more than I felt it was worth to start with and I made a counteroffer. That I am aware of it never sold at his asking price and I sent him a message not long ago asking if it was still available and if so my offer still stood. Said message went without reply so I guess he either sold it without the sale being posted in his FS thread or he decided to keep it rather than sell it for a price he wasn't willing to accept.

Either way it's of no consequence now, I suppose.
