Ok so today sucks, I'm driving the 93 beater civic to work (39 MPG) And the tire pops. So im like no problem i keep a full spare in the trunk just in case. Well I get out and all is well set the spare tire next to the car while i'm jacking it up. Well Farva in his highway state trooper cruiser decides to pull up next to me and ask me if im ok and decides not to pay attention and run over my spare. It looks fine and all so i put it on and commence driving. About 3 miles from work boom spare tire goes bye bye and im sitting there waiting for my buddy to pick me up and take me. No can I file anything with the state troopers? he knows he ran it over and i saw him and told him he did it. /end rant

I would at least try. call the station up and see what they say. That sucks it happened.
