THE Thread

Instead of being a poosie and beating around the bush... make it less of a soap opera... and let's see your list. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Who needs a list? it is openly apparent which mods do not deserve the powers, it is also openly apparent whom would contribute to the forum and help enforce the rules

Rules that I would apply? You want to see the list or just some of the top few?
1.) Off-topic section (the lounge) doesn't count towards post count

2.) Any user abusing on-topic threads for post count promotion would be banned after 3rd warning.

3.) New users would be required to have a set post count before being allowed to post in off-topic. (this eliminates morons from comming around only to post in there and not contribute a thing to the forum)

4.) Moderators would be chosen by professionalism, and maturity level shown (not by a popularity contest)

5.) Super Moderators would be in place along with more moderatin staff. This place is too large to have just a few mods.

Enforce the rules? You don't follow them you get banned. Be you a mod or not.
You had no way of knowing this, but a couple of weeks ago I posted a novel much like yours ( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ) in the Backroom expressing a lot of those concerns.

also... Double posting would not be allowed... posts would be auto-merged together is a user posted more than once continuously

I have my ways of knowing things... keep in mind that I have been around a LONG time and am made aware of some of the events going on back there.

Still...I don't see the forum under the ownership that's going to take it out of the slump it's in.

Would need to take drastic measures that frankly I don't see happening.

he is considering it I think... I think th ebiggest concern he has is that he has no "respect" here among even the mods... well in my mind.. rightfully so, but I did put forth to him how he could regain respect

Those aren't bad... I also think that the moderator back room shouldn't count towards the post count.

The one I don't agree with specifically is the mod->super mod thing.... I just think we need to devise a way to nominate mods who are responsible enough not to have someone watching over them. I think if there was a way for a general member to monitor a mods actions then the would have to be accountable for their actions....

that is where a halfway decent admin would come in, but where will we find one of those?
