Anyone ever have it?

Maybe, Im just a *****. But earlier today during orientation for my work, we were being taught different ways to use our whistle for signaling purposes. I work at a water park as a life guard, so we have to be loud as shit so the sound carries throughout the park.

Anyways, after everyone using theirs multiple times over a perioud of 15 min, everything sounds slightly muffled. It almost seems as if I cant hear certain frequencys as well. Not sure how to explain it.

Im just hoping it will go away by tomorrow. Its really annoying.

Its happened to me in the past, only from concerts though where i was entirely too close to the speaker stacks. Right after one ended i had a hard time hearing for a minute or so, really freaked me out.

LOL it will probably go away but at one point it will not. One reason that I tell people with these huge systems that it is stupid to have them. They will lose there hearing!! But ya whistles will make you have loss of hearing for a bit of time.

I went with friends in the late 70's to see Boston on their "Dont Look Back" tour, and the opening act was Sammy Hager.

My (drunk) idiot friend thought sitting 20 feet in front of the left speaker stack would make it better.

I completely lost my hearing after the first 3 Hager songs, and missed all of Boston.

It took nearly a week to recover most of my hearing.

you should eventually be fine. if not you could probably sue for not having proper hearing protection during this exercise.

Thankfully it went away. I have all my hearing back. I was a lil worried cause I had tinnitus for the whole day after the exercise.

But it is gone now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can definitely damage your ears with a whistle.

Temp and perm..

Last night i went to the gym and because it was late there was only one girl employee there.

Well someone hit the fire alarm on a door in the back and we quickly found out that building had more fire alarms in it than 10 elementary schools, and the girl didn't know how to turn it off, i wanted to finish my workout so i stayed about 10 minutes longer before i finally walked out, when i figured out i couldn't hear a **** thing. didn't even sound that loud inside.

I have hearing loss in the higher freq. Every now and then my ears will hurt a bit. That’s when I take a break from the car radio. Doesn’t matter what I listen to. Treble, bass, mids hurt my ears if I play past 30/50. They hurt when I worked as a carpenter, from the compressors and nail guns and hammering. I was born with my hearing loss. But it is getting a lil bit worse and more painful. So, I study Sign language. Sooner or later I will need it.

****, that sucks mang.

Im trying to be careful with my hearing. I rarely listen to my system loud enough where I have to yell to talk. If they cant hear me when I talk in a normal speaking voice, its too loud.

But yeah, it was the higher frequencys that seemed muffled. Everything seemed quieter in general too. I didnt like the feeling. The tinnitus ringing in my ears was really loud too.

yeah quieter is like being in a trance. I have a very hard time in crowds of people. You can hear them talking but you only get a few words. Never easy to jump into a conversation, even with hearing aids.
