Well, I'm still trying to decide what to do with my system in my car. I'm seriously considering a 3-way component system. I've heard great things about the Diamond HEX series and they seem to only be a little out of my price range, so I suppose I'd be willing to splurge. Ideally I'd want a silk tweeter, 4" midrange and 6.5" midbass driver in this set up. But from my browsing online, I found out that it may be cheaper to just buy a 4" 2-way component AND a 6.5" 2-way component set. Now at this point, would it be better to just install both pairs (4" in kicks, 6.5" in door) or build my own crossover and just use one pair of tweeters, 4" midrange and 6.5" midbass? Or possibly incorperate both pairs of tweeters? From what I've heard, building crossovers isn't terribly difficult, I'd imagine you just get a program to tell you what parts to buy and where to connect them. Also, what would be good points to set my crossovers at assuming I go with this route?
