System Suggestions

I have a 1998 Chevy C1500 Regular cab truck that I am looking for suggestions on what to do next with the stereo system .

Right now I have the following setup :

H.U. - Clarion DXZ715

Ft. Speakers - 6 1\2 round Alpines

Rr. Speakers - 4X6 Clarions

Subs - 2 10" MTX T6000

Amp - Rockford Punch 800.2

My system sounds good but I would like to do something different with the highs and mids . Also should I get rid of the rear 4X6's and get a set of componets for the front maybe in the kick panels ?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Suggestions: component speakers sound much better than coaxials (in general) and you can tweek the sound staging by adjusting and moving the tweeters. Two components of a stereo system that I feel are just as important as the rest is an electronic X-over and an EQ. With these two components your bass will sound better than ever before and you can adjust the sound to exactly how you would like to hear it.

natem33 thanks for the advice . Now I got some more questions for everyone. First I am considering buying an Audiocontrol Epic 150 would this help or hurt my setup ? Next Should I get rid of my 4X6's in the rear pillars ( The boxes for the subs sort of cover them ) or should I leave them ?Also if I put a component set in the front kick panels do I get rid of the 6 1\2 's in the doors ? I am so confused:confused: LOL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks for the help

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Audio Control Epic 150, but as for the 4X6's and components - If you can, buy/build an enclosure for the 4x6's and fit them elsewhere (e.g. add 4x6 box onto sub box). Otherwise keep them even if they are partially blocked because it still gives you rear fill, unless you can find a better use for the 4X6's. When you add front components, normally a person would remove or disconnect the stock location 6-1/2's. However, if you feel that the 4X6's are being blocked beyond valuable use, then you could try linking the rear speaker signal to your existing 6-1/2's along with a pair of components. The front stage is much more important than the rear fill. Another solution for your 6-1/2's is to replace them with midbass drivers (+ a small 2 channel amp) along with a set of components in the kick panels and keep the 4X6's for rear fill.
