Im just getting into the game and Im starting out with

Sony Xplod head unit (upgrading this hopefully soon) I like it but I know there's better

2 pioneer 6.5" speakers in the front and 2 6by9s in the back

2 JL audio 10" w3s in the trunk ( I love these they hit hard)

pioneer amp 350 watt (I should have some more juice)

All together It sounds good but I know it could be better, I just wanted some suggestions, I saw alot of people have some know how in here so I thought Id ask you guys

you get a higher wattage amp and it will set those jl audio 10s out. my friend had 2 of those same speakes hooked up to a punch 250.2 and his stuff hits hard as hell

U need a bigger amp suggest RFostgate 250/350.

Quick question what is that Pioneer amp pushing your mids/hi or subs and how many channels? If the amp is for mids and hi you should be fine, but if its for the subs I would recommend something with a lil more power. In addition since your mids and his are aftermarket it definetly wouldnt hurt to push them with an amp. Your head unit might not produce enough power to really give you your moneys worth. the pioneer amp is 2 channel and its bridged. I thought Id need more power, any suggestions for a head unit?? Thanks for the help!, Im lookin for a rockford fosgate amp right away!!

Im thinkin about adding another sub a (12" boston) what should I push that with another amp or will the pioneer work if I hook the RF amp to the JL audios??

Wait I am confused. It sounds like you are using two different kind of subs. That is your choice but I wouldnt recommend it. As for HU, well that depends on what you want. Each HU has different things (i.e. CD/MD Changer Control, MP3 player, graphic display, MASK, etc.) and then it also depends on how much you wanna spend. Good HU are Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, etc. Here are basic guidlines. If you are going to get two subs they need their own amp. Sometimes aftermarket speakers (hi/mids) in the car would also require a seperate amp, usually the HU isnt strong enough to power the hi/mids, if they are aftermarket.

If you are happy with the way it sounds now, to avoid spending much more money just

invest in a good passive equalizer to seperate the highs and lows and to save your speakers
