All right here goes, I'll try to give you all as much information as I can.

1991 Mercury Cougar LS

AIWA CDC-mp3 45W*4 In-dash Cd player

2 x 8" Fockford Fosgate Punch XLC Subwoofers - powered by Hifonics Amp

1 x 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch Power DVC Sub

Custom made box

Waht I am looking for is an amp capable of pushing the 12 with authority. Of course, 2-ohms mono bridged stable. As always looking for the best bang for the buck.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what amps would do the trick, and by any chance if you know of any for sale relatively cheap.

Some anmes I've had mentioned are the MTX Blue Thunder Series (or Pro series) and the JBL 600.1, and yes i know the MTX amp is no longer in most stores.

The JBL 600.1 is an awesome amp. That is what I would recomend. I would also recomend a JL 250/1 or 500/1.

The 600.1 should be enuf to push it, runninga t 2 ohms, seeing as the one sub alone is a 1000 W sub...

i dont think those other ones would be nearly enought to push it...

If that isn't enough then try the Harrison labs 1600.2 dont worry about under powering each sub by 200 watts..I highly doubt you will notice they are a bit underrated anyway.

I think you misunderstand, I have an amp thats running hte 8's perfectly fine and am keeping that amp. In fact I love those 2 subs, people can't believe it when i tell them that its only two 8's, they blow my buddies 2 RF 10's out fo the water.

This new amp is ONLY for the 12.

The JL 500/1 would do it perfectly, trust me, at the shop where I work we have one pushing a type r 15 which is a 1500 peak and it does the job awesome, i would like to get one for my type r 15. OR you could check out planet audio, i have the 1200d pushing mine, the amp puts out 1060X1 @ 2 ohms.
