Subs for a JBL 1200.1 and a HUGE trunk

Ok, I dont know but I think it is big! But, I need subs for a JBL 1200.1! Should I get 4 12" subs with 300RMS each? or 2 larger 12" subs! I want to be the loudest kid in the High School parking lot. Budget is a consideration, but not too much (not the SUPER expensive subs please! I was thinking 4 12" Pioneer VCCS single voice coil down to 1 ohm or is that too hard to wire... PLEASE HELP ME!!

A w7 would definitly thump but you might want to look at the Eclipse Ti. i just heard one of these in a 3000gt and it sounded great!

if the poineers are what you want then get them, to wire them down to 1 ohm you just put all the + together and all the - together, but in my IMO i think a lot of the times more isnt always better. i think getting 2 more powerful subs might be better, but its your choice

The Ti's are a quality sub.....but in my opinion not worth the extra money over the ususal eclipse DVC.

If youre aftre good quality with volume, thses are the only naes you need to know (not in any particulra order)

1. OZ Audio LM series

2. Kove

3. Crystal CMP

4. Beyond Audio (I kniow they do an a v.good SQ sub, although not sure what its called -I think its the Inhuman - never heard one, but apparently v.good, according to people like dbDon)

5. W7

6. IDMax

A 1200.2 would just about be ok for any of these, although somethinh with a little more power would be best - mayb2 2 1200.1s???

Hey man I will have to tell you that jt money was right on the subs mostly on the crystal cmp you might have never heard of it it seems the only ones are zane and jt money but this is an amzing sub I really think that its the best sounding subwoofer besides the w7 but i am only giving it an jl 500/1 and it blows my jl 12 w3s outta of the water and its one 15! My series is just the cmp and theres a cmp x2 new model out thats even more massive cant wait to hear it i think i might even beat the w7 and i am a die hard jl fan but man i would take this sub over a jl besides the w7 anyday. Now you willing to pay 300-500 or more for this sub you will but trust me you will not be dissapointed its awsome now as for the rest listed i dont like the oz audio subwoofers at all i think they are too sloppy and actully not even that loud overated. Kove is awsome armeggedons are a **** good sub assload of SPL. As stated w7 is the best in my opinion but who has 500plus dollars not me just for one sub. And yea those are called inhuman i think have heard those and they are very good sounding yea terrible sq but SPL monsters.OK lets name some more how bout TREO, Alumapro,Fosgate POWERS decent,Kicker L7 decent and soo many mor ebut really if you have the money go for the CMP or W7 will not be dissapointed.

Have you thought about 2 Diamond Audio Hex DVC subs. They are a little hard to find which makes them kinda cool cause not everyone has them. They hit like 600W RMS and 1000 Peak, but they are way underrated. They are some of the loudest, cleanest subs I've ever heard

Hey Jt sorry man this is JLman yea i am not for sure what i am hitting yet but it blows away my w3s and i was hit 142.8 with them so i am thinking over 145 easy i am going to get a jl 1000/1 and we will see thenm havent made it to comp casue wouldnt do great be in class with strokers so i would get smoked with my amp but when i get that 1000/1 watch out it is a **** good sub i have you heard it?

i have heard a lot about crystal, but have never heard one myself - they have always been promising, but then thats what we shouyld expect for a sub that had like 40+engineers working on itvand costs like over $400.

Oh and I would say you forget the JL amp and go for something more clean and more battery efficent, like the Zapco range. The C2K 6.0X is v.recommended, in fact Zapco's competition line is, period.

er not to rain on your post but why would you want a zapco over a jl? there be better spl amps and as far as sq goes if you can tell the difference in these amps i would suggest you sign up for richard clarks amp challenge and make a lil money. and if you are "cutting" so close with your electrical system in your car that the difference between the jl's eff and the zapco's i wouldnt even suggest using either one pending your electrical system in your car real world hardly ever opperates at 100%.

its a personal thing. im not a jl fan, but from the installs i have heard, the Zapco is a v.high quality amp, you can burp the 9.0XD fro a single battery, its v.efficient (the jl draws way too much current for what it does) and the jl, i feel, is overpriced. if the jl was priced better id consider it, but i like to stick to zapco when i have a choice between the 2.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

zapco if good stuff but it costs more than the jl....both are class d only thing in real world the jl would always (well alot more of the time) be a 1000 watt amp the zapco wouldnt be. yeah i know the zapco has advantages but so does the jl...i just remember a few local cars that ran zapco that were suppost to kill me.....as a local competitor i am still undefeated and by old iasca score sheets (winning by 35+ points) uncontested. the zapco demo cars are very well thought out and are great as is zapco's technology ........but the same thing can be said for ALOT of companies...hell i get ragged on for memphis(just like i did for running old soundstream) but i dont do my talking with my mouth or my fingers i let the results sing out loud and proud, and of the 2 cars that ran zapco..one now runs us amps (to be louder) and the other runs xtant (went from good to muddy just dont tell him that ) its all in exicution ..........

gotta realize its about 90% what you do with it rather than "how good it is" not everyone with top of the line stuff wins.....it helps but exicution is what matters. i could whip most normal guys with near junk equipment if they had good stuff and i know a few that would kick a$$ reguardless. i dont consider myself in that league but having been there against the best in my divisions and looking at others cars ..... what is sad to me is you see all this motorization fiberglass all hub bub looks cool but what does it do? and i seen more than my share of mechanical failures to know half of those cars spend more time in the shop gettin fixxed than actual use. so to me "if you cant go out readily turn it on and drive it down the road , then what REAL good is it?"

1 US AMPS (is a reactive monster)

2. Memphis (not nesisarily because of power. more based on because i know how it works)

4. earthquake (if you look at tests these dont act as well into a reactive load as you might think but has enough wins uder its belt to justify (exicution))

5.too many to list here cause outside of the top three (i am splitting hairs here anyway) companies like dei mtx zapco jbl all make good enough stuff if put in right set up could be down right dominating
