Sub Wiring Question

This will probably fall into the noob category, but I have a question on sub wiring.

I have an L7 4 ohm DVC that I have wired at 2 ohms. I used the wiring diagram provided by Kicker and they say to connect the 2 + and - terminals and then run the + and - from the same voice coil to the amp.

Most, if not all, other diagrams I have seen show to connect the + of one voice coil and the - of the other to the amp like the one below.

So my question is, does it make a difference? Or am I f'ing up my sub and/or amp by having the + and - from the same voice coil running to the amp?

Wanted to add something, if you wire in series, you need to swap voice coils. But in parallel it doesn't matter. GL with your sub man, hope it slams //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have it wired in parellel. It's a 4 ohm DVC that I have wired @ 2 ohms. It slams nice for a single Kicker 12. It's loud enough for me anyways.
