i have 2 xpl subs and i just recently put them in a ported box were they hit really hard but they come out really far when they hit at high volumes, but its not clipping or sounding bad that i can hear, but im afraid of blowing em, could i?

If you are afraid of blowing them and are feeding them close to the maximum amount of power you should, then turn the gain down a little.

adjust your sub-sonic eq. It should be at or around the port tuning freq.

You can always try a sealed enclosure? Then you dont need the sub-sonic eq.
