is it true that subs are louder when their position in the truck so that the cones are pointing at you when you open the trunk

everyone has their own opinon on this. I personally think that with the subs hitting the back of the seat sounds better than it bouncing off of the trunk lid (rattles alot more). It comes down to what you feel sounds best. Some people say that pointing them away reduces the listener of hearing any distortion, in a hatchback... From what i have experienced is with them facing the back seat the distortion fades through the seat and the sound was much better than when you flip the box and have it playing out the back... Try and try again, if you havent bolted anything down, theres nothing holding you back.
