Sub box too small?

Hi all,

As part of the upgrading process following the theft of my original system, I've switched subwoofers, going from a Pioneer TS-W29C to a TS-W255C. This new one has greater power handling and, from what I've heard, is just a better sub.

Sounddomain.com says the TS-W255C can use a sealed box from 0.75-0.85 cubic feet, while Pioneer recommends 1.0 cubic feet. The box I bought is a Bassworx H10G and is has 0.74 cubic feet.

What might happen as a result of this smaller box? It was perfect from my TS-W29C, I had no problems and good thump. And I loved the box, it's a really nice size for my hatch But I'm not sure about the new sub...it isn't screwed in yet and I can still return the box, so it's all good for now...thanks all!

I would fill the box with pollyfill. That will make your box sound close to .965. They should sound good in your box. You will get more SQ out of that enclosure than SPL.
