Sub Box Modification....

ok, i've got a dual 12, single chamber, 2 cubic ft. box, for my diamond audio CM3's, it hits harder then the 4 tens i used to have. I just want more SPL, so i was considering porting the box. i have a little over 1 cubic ft. closed off on the bottom to compensate the sealed application.

I was thinking about removing that and throwing in some ports i just dont really know where i should put them on the box and how long i should make them, or better yet how to figure out how long to make the ports.

Am i really going to gain more SPL from doing this? After the modification i would most likely have a 3 cub box w/ 2- 2" ports

i added two red dots on the pic to show where i think the ports should go. What do you guys think?

Just build a slot ported box and or buy a prefab box for the subs. I can give you some specs on a box for those subs if you would like.

Thanks, but i got ahold of a guy from diamond finally and he pretty much just said that what i was planning was ok to do, i just hope that it makes it louder!

Where can you buy ports with flanges on them? I need 2- 4"x13"ports for this box.

hmm. how do those work do you buy a 4" flange and add the length you need with your own pipe? The only one that may work for me is 4" adjustable but i dont know if it would adjust to 13"?
