speaker terminal on box i bought

Are these terminals too ***** for 600 watts rms to be pumped to the sub?

i think those are the same terminals i had and they didnt last long, the pressure made them pop out and break and stuff, so i just gave up on them....

I think infinity1412 is thinking of the terminals that just push in the cutout, those kind have screws to hold them in.

radioshack has one for 4 dollars its pretty big though like 2"x4"

This a much better terminal cup. I would never use spring loaded terminals for any speaker, let alone a sub enclosure.

i have one of those, it took 450watts no problem so 600 should be fine

I dont think theres a problem with these at all. Unless they leak, they should be fine. You could run 0g or 20g for speaker wire and you wouldnt notice a difference.

Do not buy the radioshack ones, they are the biggest pieces of **** ever. They rattle, and are in no way airtight.

I don't know about all that. I never have and never will use anything smaller than 14g for subwoofer speaker wire. I currently use 10g inside my enclosure and also run 10g to my sub amp(s). Just my opinion.

Watts really shouldn't be an issue, unless you're pushing some ungodly amount of power through them. I'd think some 14 guage wire might melt before the metal on a terminal would. I use the $4.00 ones on Crutchfield. They also carry the round spring-loaded ones which you showed a picture of, and they're half the price, which might tell you a little about the quality.

another question i had was... if for some reason poly-fil happened to touch the bare wire in my box... could it be a possible problem?

- is it necessary to tape up all the bare wire inside the box anyway?

I used these for the box for my HC's. You twist them to secure the wire. They are really strong.
