i'm about to sound deadend my doors and i got a couple questions. when i roll on the mat do i cover up the spaces in the door or do i just cut out pieces to fit wherever there is metal? do i put anything behind the speaker? i heard people use foam in there doors so how do i go about doing that? do i also put the mat on the plastic door panel as well?

some ppl use acoustic foam behind the spks, supposed to help out in sound but never tried it.

what i did was to put 2 layers inside the doors so it keeps sound inside. put 1 layer in the out part. you should cover the holes, but some are too big too cover, cover the ones to the best you can, i just put a piece in the front and the back so it kinda forms a sheet that covers the whole and there's no sticky side showing.

on the plastic door panel, no need to put it in there

I don't know about the acoustic foam... I wouldn't worry about it. I would put 1 layer on the outter part of the doors, and 1-2 layers on the inner part. Covering up the holes won't hurt anything. If your plastic panels are rattling I would go ahead and put a peice on them.

how would that edead liquid deadener work on the inside part of the door? it would be easier for me to use that on the inside part then trying to get some mat in there. should i try to roll on as much of the mat as i can and then do the rest in liquid? would 40 sq. ft. of the mat be enough for both doors?

I would use the mat on the inside of the doors... use the liquid deadener on the outter part of the doors if you are doing that part. 40 sq feet will be close to doing both doors if you are doing more then one layer.

i measured my doors and they are 34" x 20" and i figured with 3 layers a door (2 on the inner and one outer) that would be 28 sq. ft. i think i might just do the mat and not the liquid. i wanna keep my cost under $100. also what can i do to keep my tailgate from rattling? i heard that i can stuff polyfill in there and that works. there are a lot of space in my tailgate and i would have to do a lot of cutting for a mat so i was wondering what if i filled my tailgate with something like polyfill and got a piece of plywood and rolled on a couple layers of deadener on the plywood mount that to the tailgate and then the plastic panel. does that sound like it would work good? i don't wanna just stop the rattle i feel like i'm loosing a lot of bass too.
