Sound Deadening...does it remove SPL or just rattling?

ok, i've been curious becuase a lot of my friends say different things, and none of them really know what they're talking about. So...if my trunk rattled, and i got some dynamat or something, will you still be able to hear the bass outside my car or no?

first off it should help quieten it down but probably not eliminate it. And to all you who think the louder it is outside the car the better, WRONG! The more panels flex the more spl you lose. I'm not trying to be a dick head or anything so don't take offense, lots of people think it's awesome to hear it outside their car and it's time someone told them the truth. Tighten your trunk latch down too if you have bad rattle

wait, what?? i don't have a system, i don't even have a car right now, i'm just curious. So when i get a system, and if i can hear the bass outside of it, and my car does rattle, then will putting dynamat or something similar in it lessen the bass that you can hear outside??

Yes, it will lessen ratlles and road noise.

I don't see what the big deal is about hearing it outside your car. What people don't realize is that if you can hear it outside of your vehicle, you are just losing bass inside. The quieter it is outside the more bass you are keeping in, therefore more for you to enjoy while in your car. anyone out there who thinks that not putting dynamat in their car to make it louder outside is a good thing is a freaking moron. that stuff works like a charm if you use enough of it. but if you have a lot of bass then it won't stop all of it. hell i have over 60 feet of the dynamat xtreme and my car still flexis and rattles. that's why i'm moving on to fiberglass resin.

its a good brace (resin) but it doesnt transfer the accoustacal energy that dynamat brown bread or cascade does ..it turns it to heat. in my firebird i had 13 rolls a dynamat..5 gallons of fiberglass and 2 gallons of bondo .........and no it wasnt for the "body" it was used as a brace and dynamat was placed over the top as i had a build-to encloser.
