Sound Dampening

I have 1998 Chevy C 1500 regular cab truck and I was wondering what the best way to sound proof it it is ? I am really concerned with the 4x6 's mounted in the pillar behind the doors . It seems most of the sound is escaping there . Any and all help would be appreciated

For the pillars I would say Dynamat and maybe some foam baffles. You could do the rest of the vehicle with Dynamat but it would be pricey. There are other options like NoiseKiller and others which are a little cheaper than Dynamatting.

natem33 thanks for the info . With the dynamat would you just cut out the hole for the speaker and than mount the spearker over top of it or would you put inside the pillar ? also do you have any good web sites to buy this stuff ?

I just went to my local stereo shop to see if they had the foam baffles and the said that I would be better off going with a 6X9 baffle instead of the 4X6 . The guy told me it would sound better . Any thoughts on this idea ?
