I don't know if it will put out its rated wattage but the only decent car audio stuff I've seen from Sony are their HU's. I haven't bought a Sony amp and I don't ever think I will because there are too many good names out there that have amps at similar wattage and pricing to take a risk on Sony.

For the price, I just thought that was a good amp. I know there's a reason people don't mess with Sony, I just was never sure. Would a Profile amp be a better investment?

200 bucks for a sony amp .... and thats ikesound ..... WTF!?!?!?! did sony get good or something?

every sony setup i heard i was like....... turn it up ..... 2 sony 15s *sealed* and a 1kwatt sony amp literally sounded like 1 of my PG 12s

a lot of ppl rag the HUs ..... i like them. although the filters arent that great .... they do help. and now, a lot of the sony decks have an EQ built in *awesome for turning up cymbals or vocals or w/e*, mp3 playback, XM ready, and always the preouts with a sub setting. they have wireless remotes too. the decks can be had for ~200 bucks

From everything I've read about Profile they seem to be good amps for the money. I haven't personally heard Profile amps so I am going off of what I have read on the several forums i read, but the consensus seems to be that for the money its a good amp and sounds pretty good.

My buddy installs stereos for a living. (pretty **** good living if you ask me) Anyways...he swears that they are decent. I said the old sony amps were very prone to break (this means they are ****), and he hasn't had any problems at all with this particular one. I dislike sony a great deal, but he swears up and down that they actually did something right.

Still not sure on their products, but maybe they are heading in the right direction???
