AF may not be the same Army but i imagine it is.
as of Jan 1, 2008 there are no bonuses even for re-enlistment this is the bright idea of the government to recoup some of the cost of the so called war.

If i was to join the air force i would get a 40,000 NON TAXED bonus, in cash. What would you do with it? New car/ truck or retirement fund? Or invest in stocks...throw some ideas out there.

Put a hefty down payment on a house, and invest the rest in mutual funds.... or if you already have a house, just mutual funds. Low risk, and in time will provide a nice chunk of change when you need it.

just going by the army times i didnt see anything about specific mos's keeping them could be wrong tho. i know i wouldnt have got one
