So do i need to dampen the entire trunk?

alright so i bought 4 sheets of stfu-80 and applied it to my trunk lid, it helped alittle, but my trunk still rattles a bit and also now it sounds like my trunk floor is rattling too, so im wondering do i need to dampen the entire trunk now? or just keep layering the lid? also how come the floor rattles now?? there's only a thin layer of carpet covering the floor

I encase my trunk in sound deadening material like I'm holding a nuclear reactor back there. I don't want anything vibrating or rattling and honest to god my car sounds like a stock stereo from the outside (SQ is much better) until you open the doors or windows. I don't have pics of my system atm but I have two layers of Fatmat on in my trunk, along with fiberglass insulation in the dead spaces that I can't matt and I have liquid sound deadner on the way. It pays to put alot of effort into sealing up your trunk.

you should put the mat all over ur trunk, so it seals off the trunk n doesn't rattle. the thing u prob hear the most rattling are the trunk lid and the license plate. put some good aomunts of mat in the side panels of the trunk, i thikn those rattle quite a bit too

also you could try orienting the sub different ways. not really a solution but I had moved my sub around and turned on the radio, sounded fine inside; I hop out the car and sounds like my f*in muffler or somethin else under the car is about to come off!
