Smart CALC. People (Question)

I got a friend who can't figure out how to do this calculus problem. I can't remember my calculus class from many years ago, and have no idea how to do it anymore. So if anyone can get the answer and give it to me in a way I can explain it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Here it is:

Find the Integral from 0-2 of E^(X+1)/E^X

and i haven't seen you around in while, hows it going? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
It is going good. I had to run out of town for a little emergency and was gone for a couple weeks. I am all set now though.

And I need to know how to do the problem, not just the answer. But thanks for trying.

okay kids gather round the chalk board...

e^(x+1)/e^x reduces down to plain ol e

so taking the integral of that gets you e*x

the integral from 0 -> 2 gives you e*2 - e*0 = 5.436563657

i don't need to explain integrals do i? cuz that would take a little bit

Thank you very much! I haven't taken calculus in years and just realized I can't do derivitives or integrals anymore:crying:

And are you 100% sure of your answer? I just wouldn't want to misguide my friend.

Thanks a bunch!

how did you reduce it to e?

it's just a property of numbers (which e is a number 2.718281828...)

say 2 for example. 2^3 / 2^2 = 8 / 4 = 2

or 2^10 / 2^9 = 1024 / 512 = 2

it works every time.

He is making this shit up. Last week he told me that the Earth is tilted.
