need your help guys... after i turn off my car and get out, when i touch metal on the door i get a BIG electric shock, like static electricity. i have checked all my wiring for my system (pos & neg) and everything seems to be ok. any ideas?

What kind of vehicle is it? Cloth seats? Did it just start happening when the weather got cold & dry?

I've had 2 Ford Explorers with cloth seats and continuously get shocked. It's just static, like you said. You could probably spray some static guard clothing spray on it and reduce it.

Static electricity, same thing when you walk across a carpet floor w/bare feet then touch an eletrical out-let or something metal you get a shock.

cloth seats... i guess it is just good ol' static electricity. thanks for the help, i'll try some static guard.
