Shared Chamber or Seperate Chambers

I got 3 12's that i want to run in one box and port it. I want to know if it would be better for each sub to have its own chamber and a port. So it would be like 3 boxes in one with 3 ports. Or have all 3 subs share the same chamber and just have one port, so the subs will share one airspace.

BTW - all 12's are the same make and model and all going to have their own amp which is also going to be the same models. So that is 3 12's the exact same and 3 amps the exact same.

Yes you would want to go with seperate chambers because you don't have one amp to push all of the subs. Believe it or not you can basically never match the output on the amps. So if you go with 3 separate boxes, or separate chambers then it doesnt matter.

So mutiple amps=mutipule chambers. 1 amp=1 chamber.

So if i would have one amp then it would be better to have a shared chamber?

Also what is the advantage of having shared chambers?

Would it also sound good even though i would make a shared chamber with 3 subs and 3 amps instead of 1 amp. I would be very difficult to make a box with 3 chambers of equal sive since i am going arround curves and other stuff. One point it will 15 inches deep the other it will be 24 inches deep. I would be a problem to make same size chambers.

There is really no advantages of having a shared chamber or multiple chambered box. My dad told me a long time back that if you would make 2 chambers, 2 subs, that you would have stereo sound, not sure if that is true because of the stereo/mono amps that are out there.

I just always understood that if you have more than one amp you have to have different chambers because the amps output would never be the same, even if the voltage and the ground/powerwire were the same.....

If they are sharing the same chamber with diffeent amps on them, when they play and the amps aren't EXACTLY matched, they will move the subs differently and they start fighting each other causeing distortion.

 

You gonna have to built the enclosure, the outside walls, and then sit with a calculater and do math till you come up with

even aispace in each one. Not that hard, just time consuming. If you want a little help, look me up on AIM @ bass4you and we can figure it out.
