I actually saw it and thought Holy Shit, but then I questioned If I had missed something and this was a rerun from a while ago I didn't reolize I was watching it live, but nope, I saw it live, kinda freaky

My father use to race against his old man back in the 60's in Detroit.

rip.......my question is , why would you put a concrete wall at the end of a 1/4 mile ??? especially when your car can do like 300 miles an hour?.>>> you would think that the end of the track would be open for the car to roll free off the track..........common sense would tell you that a concrete wall +300mph =death.........

x2 maybe like a nice long bed of sand or something like they have for the runaway trucks on the interstate. Don't know how much it would help in reality but I would imagine anything is better than a concrete wall.

If you look at the tape you can see a sand pit and a net at the end, I dont know if the car got into the turn off wall or if the wall angled in at the end, but it was rather abrupt to say the least.

yeah there is sand and a safety net at the end of each track. alot of times people go right under them though.

i was watching qualifying today but i guess i turned it off before this happened? I was watching one of his previous qualifying rounds today and his chute came out before he even hit the gas.
