S/N and THD

The two are not related. THD represents the non-linearity of the amp because no transistor/MOSFET is perfectly linear. S/N represents the noise floor of the amp or the amount of background noise introduced by the amp because every circuit adds a little bit of noise of its own.

 
It has been said that an S/N of anything above ~50 is good enough for human hearing, and since most all amp's specs are 80 or higher - S/N should be of little concern.
