running speaker wire in 03 Liberty

I am having issues running speaker wire into the doors on my 03 Liberty. I got the panels off and factory speakers out no problem. I then popped the boot out to run the new wire through, but instead of just wires in the boot there are plugs.

Does anyone have suggestions other than drilling a hole under the plug and then going through the boot?

Can you run it next to a wire already going through the plug?

I actually ran new wire on this vehicle and I found a spot in the plugs that was unoccupied on both sides and big enough to fit the wires through, I drilled a hole through both sides to allow the wires to go through and voila!

Unless you are running a really powerful setup then I would just use the factory wiring, Its all ran perfectly already and out of the way of everything. When you run knew wire you risk the chance of it getting caught/pinched/tangled.

You probably won't even notice the difference between the factory wiring and the new wiring.
