Building a 3-4 cu/\3 ft ported box for my power hx2, only one 12", powered by my rf bd1000.1 at 1 ohm.

Now the problem will be the ports, how many if round, or do i go with a squarish port, and how do i measure those out??

ohh yea, and wut do i tune it t0o for loudness. Cuz if this one isn;t all that loud, i will be buying another one, only if i have t0o, but i need to save up for it tho.

thanks

If you make a square port you should turn your sub arround backwards and stuff socks into the ports, putan old pillow inside the box

Round or square really doesn't make a difference if they are constructed properly. I personally like the looks of non-round ports. I say that because the shape really doesn't matter as long as the port area remains the same.

thanks.....

I was going to making a port 8"x4" and 8.8" inches deep to tune a 4.0 ft/\3 box to 40.

but i was then told to get more port area, they told me to go with a 10"x5", to tune it to 40, it would have to be 15.22" deep.

Wuts the difference? they both tuned to 40 so wut does the port area matter??

my box is 22 1/2" deep, does it matter how close the port on the indise is close to the back of the box?

thank you

If your port is too close to the back of the box, some air might not make it through the port. This will allow the subs to have tighter bass, but defeat the purpose of the port.

use the port size recommended by fosgate, I know one the website they tell you exactly how to build the box, usually square sounds better cause there isn't as much turbulence

i believe that the differrence in port size , even though tuned the same, will help eliminate port noise. the smaller the port, the faster the air is moving thru it, the greater the chance for noise. vice versa for the big port. i think. and since you have about 7" from the end of the port to back inside of box, u should be fine.
