ok cool i was looking into those speakers but i was not sure entirely. i did not even know i need an amp just for my speakers. i will be doing for research on that for sure. with that being said I would need to do the big 3 wiring upgrade?

Big Three never hurts, but there are a lot of options to upgrade the electrical system should you go down that path, Big 3 being the first of them.

As far as the additional amp goes, 1000% you need one for the other speakers; it's not even debatable, really.

Your Pioneer is really more like a 2.5 way, it's midrange is really too shallow and small to move enough for low midrange output, and the tweeter is more like a super-tweeter, doing a bit for the top end where that mid is going to struggle.

Those Sony 2-way coaxials sound superior to the Pioneer 3-ways, definitely.

When comparing, keep to apples and apples, not apples and oranges; in this comparison, it's hard to compare a 2-way with a more specialized cone and silk dome tweeter to mids and tweeters made of poly-mica, polycarbonate, or polymide, not a fair comparison.

You want to look for any brand that is heat-tolerant, made of 100% OFC copper (not CCA copper-clad aluminum), and uses tinned pure copper lugs. Any brand that uses those components, even the cheap Amazon generics, is going to perform more than adequately.

Skar does not manufacture their cables; they are manufactured in Chinese build houses, as are about 95% of every one sold on the market.

That's not a bad thing; you get what you pay for, and the criteria I just provided are what count.

Skar does have some quality big 3 kits, at reasonable prices too.

If you get around to needing one, hit me up; I've got some 4-gauge, some 2/0, and 1/0 pure copper OFC lying around. Get me the sizes needed (or I can find that out), and I'll be less expensive than most of them.

The first link failed; the second is all copper-clad aluminum. You will not find a 1/0 pure copper big three kit for less than about $80-$90.00.

IF you can simply add the new cables to the existing setup (overlay), then 4-gauge would be fine. If you have to remove the old and replace it, then 1/0 is better.

Note

A1/0 CCA kit at $40.00 isn't any better than a $40 OFC pure copper 4-gauge kit.

I just did mine the other day, using 2/0 (cause I have it lying around).

That's 2/0 on the left (pinkish color) coming from the alternator, and oversized 1/0 on the right tied into the breaker.

And that orange cable is both +/- 2/0 going to the rear of my hatchback.

i was looking at other brands like sky high's website and yea their kits are definitely not cheap as expected. I never thought about doing an overlay to be honest but that could be a great idea. I was looking at videos on how to do it with my ram 1500 but sadly i no longer have scrap wire laying around. But your setup does look very organized!

Unless it's necessary, I never remove the older stuff; I just clean up the contacts and add the new.

The idea is to increase the overall pipeline, so adding it to the existing cables increases it that much more.
