Risks of dropping Impeadence on RFbd's

I've heard alot of pople saying that you can run a RF1001bd at 1 ohm in paralell all day, with no trouble, and then there are others who say doing so may damage the amp. I'd have to say that the thing would just throw protection and shut off if you run it hard ( I thought the RF Power series is suppose to bad bad ass protection circitry?). I have the same prob, since i have a pair of dual 4 ohm 12's, and I can't run them optimally off the amp. Anyone think anything otherwise?

I had nothing but problems trying to run my bd1000 at 1ohm, it would always shut off. I know it never ever dropped below what it wanted for voltage, the protection just cut it off all the time. Pissed me off.
