THE WHOLE THING!!!
Look at this hideous ****. Absolutely ridiculous looking.

My buddy said at best buy, you get 2 12" P2s in that fuggin ugly ass box for $500. What a rip.

Look at the port too. How the hell would you calculate the tuning frequency of that thing. Makes me wonder if they tune it at all.

They are all about "eye candy." There is probably a bunch of people out there who will buy it because 1. they don't know any better (Its RF so it has to rock :thumbsdow ) and 2. Its appealing to their eyes. Oh well, it's there problem.

And I doubt they even tune the ports, just make them big enough.

I hope that includes an amp... for $500 anyhow. I was just at best buy and that box is by Q-logic for under $200 and the subs are $139 a piece...

Interesting.

By the way, I have two RF P2's with retail boxes, and one best buy service plan that I'd be willing to sell for $200 + shipping.

Ok, sorry for hijacking the thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

T.J.

the box is alright, most likely made out of particle board. the ports can be easily measured by simply sealing the both ends and finding how much water or any kind of liquid it can hold.

They have hundreds of thousands of dollars and tons of hours to dedicate to R&D, so I am sure they have response curves for that box, know the volume, tuning, etc.

I'm sure it sounds decent, but its hideous!

Well, you could probably say the same for Q-logic, but my friends ported box was tuned to something ridiculous like 50 hz.

I'm sure it would sound OK, but not worth the d*mn money.

That's.....ummm....stupid. I'm not talking about the port SIZE, i'm talking about the tuning frequency.
Im not trying to start anything, but how else do you go about finding the tuning freguency w/o knowing the over port area.

And YES, that thing is ugly as sin, should be a contest the new L7's w/ the grills and box vs this RF setup. I think it would be the first sub vs. sub thread Id be interested in...

Not to sound stupid on my part, either.. but I would think they might actually TELL YOU what the box is tuned to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Installed one at the shop i work at the other day. Sounds like absolute and utter crap. Air leaks everywhere and the port flexes like a basterd. Our store isn't ordering any more of their loaded enclosures. Subs are decent for the price though.

Actually, i bet they don't. Q-logic doesn't, nor does any company that sells a loaded enclosure.

Port area and port displacement are two different things. How the hell would you find out the port area of a shape like that.
Trigonometry. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The same way they calculate the taper, length, and volume of horns, math my good man math. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Play testones to verify your tuning. The sub will move least at the tuning frequency. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Bah, i don't think they would put that kind of effort into such a hideous monstrousity that is that box.

The only people that want that **** are the kids who want "m3d slammin' in the trunk y0". They prolly tuned it to like 45-55 hz so it sounds loud in the showroom. If they tuned it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
