RFL152 SPL Competition Subwoofer

Okay, I am kinda new at all this but I am planning on putting a RFL152 SPL Competition Subwoofer in my mitsubishi, my brother says that I need to have 4 amps powering it. As much as he has done with my car, sometimes I am not so sure about his information so I figured I would check it out with some more experienced people first. What do you guys think?

you dont need four amps to push it, one jbl bp-1200.1 would probably push it fine or you could use one of those amps on each voice coil but i dont see any need for four amps

A guy i talked to said the voice coils are too small for that sub its poorly made he designed subs for DD so its prolly crediable if you have the sub alright then just ler it pound but if you haven't you might wanna shop around a little more $500 is a lot to spend

Thanks guys and no I haven't gotten the sub yet. I actually haven't gotten my car yet. But, I was looking for something competition style for a mitsubishi eclipse. I'll probably spend some more time looking around now. Thanks

We'd all be glad to help and answer any ?'s you might have and even give you some examples or suggestions to guide you but it comes down to your ears but I want to help so if you could give us a budget man that would help!

I like the w7's the best.

And for an amp

Go with a Harrison Lab 4800

here's what i recomend if the cost doesnt matter..

subs= JLaudio w7 or CerwinVega Strokers or DD

amps= Zapco C2K 9.0x or Crossfire BMF1000D or EarthQuake PhD2 or DEI

2 w7s and 2 1000.1s or

do not laugh the new power accoustik furb actully a really good subwoofer for the money no where competes with the w7 but costs 500 less as well and out hits alot of brand name subs also DD at the top of the list treo fusion jonah **** good sub for the $ uhh so **** many the mtx rfl is a very bad choice it is comp only u couldnt even bump it around the neighboorhood all it is is a loud pop but when it pops it pops.

are you sure money don't matter or do you not know how much this stuff can cost if money is no problem kickass money is my only problem, atomic thunder is a nice sub maybe a Mclntosh amp

Yeah I know how much it all can cost. I figure if I am going to do it I might as well do it right the first time. I spent about $2,000 on my last car and it was nothing that I wanted so I am planning to go all out on my new car. You only live once right? I might be talking another tune in a few months when I am completely broke but it will be worth it.
