RF power hx2

I have one power hx2, running off one bd1000.1 at 1 ohm( was told thats ok)

Gonna build a ported box, i have as much room as 4 cubic feet.

Any reccomendation on how big, and wut hz to port it at?

It sounds like you are wanting to compete so make the box as large as you can and port it from 30-50 hz i guess.I want to buy one 12" power hx2 and put it in a 3.75-5.5 cu ft. ported box in my 91 ext cab S-10,I'm powering it with my sony 1000rms d class amp at 1 ohm.I hope i get her to run 140-150 db's and i'll be happy cuz thats enough bass to make me happy for the mean time.

can i easily be hitting 130+db with one power hx2 running off a 1000watts, in a ported box with 2.5- 4.0 cubic feet????

you should be hitting close to 140 db's with 4 cu ft. ported box.1000 rms is alot of power but is needed with the power hx2 cuz they are sweet subs.My cousin used his 4 ppi 10" subs in a 7.5 cu ft sealed box in his mini van and we tried out our amps to see who's where better and the subs are 8 ohms so that would make it 2 ohms when put in parallel.He tried out his MMATS MD 500.2 first and got 142.1 db's at 47 hz and i got 142.8 with my SONY XM-3001SXD amp. his amp is rated at 550rms@2 ohms and my amp is rated at 600rms@2 ohms.My amp can also run at 1000rms at 1 ohm and thats what i am using for the 12" rf power hx2.Box size plays alot in high db's so make it big if you want big spl man thats all.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i was thinking of making the box at 3- 3.5 cubic feet, i could go 4 cubes, but i will think bout it, cuz i will be buy anothe rone in a few months maybe, all depends on how loud it will be. but another thing that had me all messed up was the port, having such a big box which a small little 4" round port, or do i make a squarish port(which i think will be harder)

Go with the round ports and get long ones and cut the hole just enough so the tube fits in and move it out till you get the sound you want and cut it that length.Do not get short ports they **** unless your box is narrow ok.hope i could help.

but yea, i'm still getting opinions on the port...

If you are going to comps man you need a different port than the one you use to make your system sound good when listening to rap and so forth ok.keep that in mind.I have a buddy with the db testing program on his computer so i am lucky,I can tune my boxes or throw them out and build another what ever it takes to get a high db winner man.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

who told you that rf bd1000.1 was 1 ohm stable, because they are only 2 ohm stable
