Aiight, I'm in a 1991 Mercury Cougar with the JBL Ford Premuim Audio, this car came stock with 4 x 6*8 (ugghh) JBL's, front doors, and rear panels.

I have now replaced the stock JBL deck with an AIWA CDC-MP3 deck, and put 2 x 8" RF Punch XLC and 1 x RF Punch Power XLC in the trunk, so the 6*8's jsut don't cut it anymore.

Just wondering waht kind of speaks you all would reccommend to give me good SQ that i can still crank, and that wont break the bank.

I've been directed towards mebbe 6*9's in the rear and 6 1/2's in the front, but any direction i could get from you all would be fantastic.

I would use an aftermarket set of 6x8s in the rear and components up front ..you can get them in plate form or make your own plate with your choice of comps. You will need to figure out which speakers sound best for your needs.

I was told that 6x8's did not give nearly the sound quality of 6*9's or 6 1/2's whihc would both fit with relative ease into the existing bays....

Any suggestions for brand, size, etc.?

I listen to everything from rock to rap and back, with teh volume pumped and down low, and am just looking for somthing that will hold the quality together with the knob turnmed to the right.
