Anyone ever built one?

Thinking bout having a switch that i can manually turn on and off the amp.

Was told by a good source it can be done. Was just curious if anyone has done it?

If so what were the material you used? How did you do it?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Helotaxi (good source),

Ok so just get the wire

Insert it in the remote input on my amp

then take the other end, attach it to switch

then that's all?

Also would speaker wire do? Or should i use specific type?

i think hes wanting a REMOTE turn on switch. not a direct inline switch. other than getting a HU with a remote im not sure. on my setup, i can turn my neons and amp and HU off with a remote. my HU remote wire is power for lights, then i have the ground wire to my neons switched to a metal switch. so i can have them manually on/off, and also when it urn my HU and amp off, the neons cut off.

maybe they make a little kit that hooks right up to power or gorund with a remote sensor, and maybe its cheap .... i was watning the same thing, only for accessories.

Then do what helo said. I would not use speaker wire, but it would work in a pinch. And yes you hook up one end of From the HU to the switch, and the other wire from the amp to the other terminal on the switch. They have tons of different switches to choose from, and I would get one that does not light up, (only becase you are using the power comming through the wire to turn on the light and that will cause more problems.

i've decided to scrap this idea. For now.

Just gonna have it tap into the remote wire.

BUT in the future, gonna come up with a way to have a switch that can sort of disconnect the remote wire, and reconnect when i choose, like a light switch.

When it's down, it removes the contact not allowing flow of current, but when up acts like a bridge to connect it, sort of like that.

its easy man

run the remote form ur amp into a 2way switch then run another wire from the switch to the radio fuse in ur car.

thats all, i did it so i could cut my **** if i got pulled over

This is to easy man. Find a place on your dash or console you want to mount your switch . run the remote cable from your HU to this switch. then run it from the switch to the amp. this way you can leave the swithc in the on position and your HU's power will control it. but if you want to cut your power with the HU running, you can. Any 2 way switch will do. Mine is a blue illuminating switch I found in Princess Auto (candian tire or autozone will have them too ) good luck

works just the same as hookin it to the radio fuse, jus my was is a lil easy

I figured it would be that easy, but as of right now i won't be doing it.

But if i decide to go thru with my plans for the summer then it will go down, O YEA!

Usually when you shop for a replacement harness for your model, you will find the pictures may show you in what pins your wires go to.
