Remote power input in Hifonics amp

the remote input on the amp connects to the remote wire on the HU so the amp turns on when the HU is on, you could wire it directly from the battery with a switch but thats generally not suggested, from the HU is the way to go

 
Like they said, Your head unit should have a Remote Turn on wire, extend it back to the amp and connect it there...

Think of it as a trigger wire...

When you turn your HU on it'll trigger your amp to turn on, when you turn off the HU, it'll again trigger it, but off....

Its sorta like a reay inside the amp, but can draw a tad more current...

Usually when you shop for a replacement harness for your model, you will find the pictures may show you in what pins your wires go to.
