I want to buy either 2 RE SE subs or 1 RE XXX. Both would be ported and tuned to either 32 Hz for the SEs or 28 Hz for the XXX. Either combination will have a Memphis 1000d amp and will be getting 1100 watts rms. What will be louder, what will have the better sound quality, and what would you suggest/buy?

I SWEAR!!!! Now i know why people get PISSED when they see the same THREADS over n over!!!

I SWEAR there is a thread EVERRRYYY DAY with "RE Subs" in the bginning.....

REALLLLY if you ran a search you would find the answer to ur question , REALLYY!!!

hey, i have searched an i would appreciate it if you could answer the question and not just waste my time. I said i wanted your opinion.

once again, thank you for wasting my time. its hard to search when there is a 3 letter minimum and im looking for RE or SE. But thank your for you help, it helps me out a lot. Its great that senior VIPs are so helpful.

OK lets end it right now. Sometimes the threads posted already do not always answer the question answered. I was pondering this question last year and there really isn't many threads about dual SE vs. single XXX.

If you go with the XXX you will need more power then 1100watts. The are loud woofers but it seem they are not too efficent. You might like it with 1100 watts though or you might not, it your system see what you like.

If you got the room go with the dual RE SE. They have really changed this woofer to perform great as a daily driver over the years. The are about 600W rms so with 2 of them you will blow the single XXX out of the water. Fully powering 2 woofers compared to underpowering 1 woofer seems to make more sense for me.

If you don't mind my asking, why do you want to go with a higher tune for 2 woofer setup (32hz) and a lower tune for single woofer setup (28hz).

Also for the record, when you do a search it helps to put the size into the word. Like instead of searching SE look for 15SE or SE15, lot more outcomes.

Plus, there is a wild character, try SE* or *SE. Not all answers will be relevant but some will be.

thanks, i looked at RE and they suggested the 32 for the 2 12s and 28 for the XXX. Would it be good to tune the SEs down to 28 too? im gonna have to make some more searching now that you have made those suggestions. thanks.

i asked the man this very same question. only difference is the amp. i have a viper d1200.1

sending near 1300 watts rms to the dual se 12's. he says that they will get louder because of more cone area and the fact that they dont need as much power etc........

It really all depends on what you want for bass. If you like the low bass 28hz is perfect for you. If you tune it to 32hz you looking to get an overall nice daily driver that will be a little louder in the upper frequencies compared to 28hz.

My preference is to tune around 29-30hz, I like the little extra umpph in the low end. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif

Its simple you have room and money go with XXX. IF you dont go with a SX. Thats how I decided.
dude,

it's dual SE vs. Single XXX, not single SX vs. single XXX. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey, Just wondering where can you buy RE subs except respl.com/reaudio.com? Sorry don't mean to hijack your thread, but what amp will feed 2 12XXX subs? Will 2 JL 1000/1 be enough (or any other amps you guys recommend) And will a stock 120a alt be sufficient enough for this setup? Thanks
