ok first of all how does the se subs compare to the jl subs, like spl and sq, also rufly how many more db's is one over the other? and i am getting the jbl bp1200.1 amp so if i went the jl; route i would prolly get 3 ten's all with dual 4's and run them at 2.67 ohms getting about 1000 watts total or if i went with the se's i would buy 2 12's and run them at 1 ohm(since jbl is stable at 1 ohm) and give a total of 1200 watts to em. so which would you reckomend?? by the way the tens would be sealed and i think i would seal the 12's for now and maybe later buy a subsonic filter add on and put them in ported boxes.

My recommendation would heavily favor the RE SE's. I think it would be much louder and have better SQ. Hard to tell how many dB's louder either would be but theoretically the JL's would win in surface area by a little, but the SE's would receive much more power so the SE's would probably win...especially if you port the SE's.

if you put the SEs in a decently built ported or sealed enclosure, they will be better than w3s in probably every aspect, especially SPL. i would compare the SEs more with the w6s rather than w3s. i had the exact same amp you had a while ago and they SLAMMED my SEs. overall, without a doubt, i'd go with resonant.
